April 3: Fishing
completed K-5th grade

Whether beginning or advanced, each child will get time learning how to fish with a pole with guided instruction. They will learn different casting techniques, baiting, pole setups, and learn how to respect nature. We practice catch and release. Your child may feel more comfortable with a net scooping fish out of our smaller pond, and that is a nice option for the really young kids.

Educational opportunities: casting, baiting, restringing poles, different baits and tackles, fish identification and anatomy, respect for our natural areas and water, and more.

Nature Center and Museum location:
443 Coleman Avenue Elmira NY 14903

Phone: (607) 732-6060
