Annual Meeting

 

Join us on February 18th, 2012 from 2-4pm for our Annual Meeting.

 

We will provide light refreshments, volunteer awards and a statement of our yearly achievements as well as the unveiling of our Annual Report for 2011.

 

The speaker will be Jim Howe, the Nature Conservancy’s director in Central & Western New York- Protecting Nature from A to Z:   A Conversation with Jim Howe of The Nature Conservancy Jim will lead us through some great conservation successes in the Adirondacks, Finger Lakes, Great Lakes, and Zoar Valley. He will also discuss some of the challenges we face in protecting the lands and waters on which all life depends.

 

Jim Howe is the Executive Director of the Nature Conservancy’s Central & Western New York Chapter.  As Executive Director, Jim leads a team of 16 staff working to protect the lands and waters of Central and Western New York, including the Great Lakes, Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and North Country.   The Nature Conservancy has protected nearly 100,000 acres in CWNY, and is leading efforts to conserve our lands and waters for people and nature.  Jim is co-author of the book “Balancing Nature and Commerce in Gateway Communities,” a how-to guide designed to help communities preserve their quality of life in the face of heavy growth and development pressures.  Jim is a graduate of Cornell University's Department of Natural Resources, and holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan.

Nature Center and Museum hours: OPEN Tuesday-Friday, 9am-4pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. CLOSED Sunday-Monday. Trails are open dawn to dusk year-round.

Admission to the Nature Center and Museum is FREE to all. Please consider becoming a member of Tanglewood!
