Saturday September 28th- 10am-11am- Wildlife Biology Presentation by Joe Iacovazzi, PHD

Admission is free for members and $5 per nonmember family

Join us for an exciting wildlife show featuring live reptiles and arthropods! Professor Iacovazzi will offer an interactive experience with spiders, beetles, snakes, lizards, and more. Learn about these incredible animals and their roles in nature, and engage with live animals in a fun and educational environment.


Tuesday July 1st 11am-12pm-First Tuesday-Drop-In Program

Join our monthly science expeditions for hands-on learning! On Tuesdays from 11 am-12 pm, January to March. Perfect for ages 5 and up, these programs cater to homeschooling families but welcome everyone. Dive into different STEM topics, explore the outdoors, and interact with animals. Be prepared for outdoor adventures!

Cost: $5 for Tanglewood members, $10 for non-members. No preregistration required, but appreciated. Pay at the door, cash preferred.

Topic: Color walk, hike the trails and finish your scavenger hunt to find a rainbow of colors in nature!


Saturday July 26th Monarch Butterfly Workshop

Join Tanglewood volunteer, Beverly Morrell, as she leads you through the life of a monarch butterfly- from egg to adult and back again. You will also get the opportunity to begin to grow your own butterfly for eventual release! We provide a small butterfly habitat and other materials. There will be a $25 fee for this workshop and you must preregister.

One Kit Per Registration-You can add guests if you are working on one kit together. Space is limited, 4 people per registration. Guests are $5 each.

Topic: History Rocks, go on a hike to discover old fossils for yourself and enjoy a bird show. 


Saturday October 19th- 11am-2pm- Haunted Happenings

Admission is free; tickets for food and activities
available for purchase at the door.

Tickets: 1 for $1, 12 for $10, or 25 for $20. If you're not yet a member of Tanglewood, you can sign up for a membership and get 20 free tickets!

FREE stuff: meet spooky animals, enjoy kids games indoors, slime making and spooky stories.

Ticketed stuff: Food (popcorn, hot dog and toppings bar, drinks). Bake sale items vary, pumpkin painting, face painting, hayrides And, the CHILI COOK-OFF!

 
Saturday November 30th- 11am-12pm- Amazing Animals

Join us for a free animal presentation given by one of our talented educators. This program covers a wide variety of animal ambassadors from our insects to our birds of prey! Come learn about how these animals survive in nature and how we care for them here at Tanglewood. Guests will have an opportunity to interact with our animal ambassadors.

 
Saturday December 7th- 11am-12pm- Hop into the Holidays

Admission is to bring a gift for one or more of our animals.

All are welcome for this family program. What better way to enjoy the holiday season than meeting some of our energetic animal ambassadors! You will meet animals that hop, including frog, toad, bunny, chinchilla and Furby, the Ferret.

Gifts for our animals:

Fresh fruit & veggies: Non-iceberg lettuce, carrots, cherry or grape tomatoes, oranges, strawberries, and squash.

Gift Cards from: Petco, PetSmart, Amazon, Minier's and Sondra's City Zoo.

Other items: Chinchilla dust, Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 UVB light or equivalent, Aspen Bedding, Timothy Hay, EcoEarth compressed substrate blocks or equivalent
