Our Amphibians

Yellow Spotted salamander

·        In addition to being valued for their beauty, the Yellow Spotted Salamander is prized for their diet of pesky insects.

·        They are amphibious, but they spend most of their time on land, using water only for breeding.

Jefferson salamander

·        This is a fairly nondescript salamander with a slender build, a long snout, and long toes.

·       They naturally breed in vernal or transient pools and mating and egg-laying may be completed in a few nights to a week.

We have more Amphibians, pictures coming soon;

American Toad

Bullfrog

African Clawed Frog

Fire-Bellied Toads
