The Mission of Tanglewood Nature Center & MuseumTo lead and support education and preservation efforts in our region to achieve a heightened awareness, understanding and caring for our natural environment.
More about us:
Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum is a not-for-profit regional nature center and museum located just outside of Elmira, NY on Coleman Avenue. Its gorgeous scenery and abundant wildlife lends itself to a perfect setting for people of all ages to come and enjoy what nature has to offer. Tanglewood also offers many educational programs and works closely with the local schools by organizing field trips and museum tours as well as many fun-filled weekend activities for families that are educational as well. Tanglewood Nature Center has its own staff and board consisting of members of the community who have an interest in preserving this fantastic nature center and who are actively involved in the management and fundraising to keep this facility going. Tanglewood Nature Center depends solely on donations and membership fees, as well as the sale of a variety of souvenirs and books in order to keep the full and part-time staff available and to pay for the upkeep and maintenance of the nature center in addition to the feeding of the animals. We welcome you to visit our nature center soon and meet our friendly staff! |
