Dr. Meg Lowman grew up in Elmira, and now she's an internationally famous biologist! She's coming to Tanglewood to inspire Elmira's next generation of scientists.

Nicknamed the “real-life Lorax” by National Geographic, Meg Lowman pioneered the science of canopy ecology. For over 30 years, she has designed hot-air balloons and walkways for treetop explorations to solve mysteries in the world’s forests, especially insect pests and ecosystem health. Dr. Lowman currently serves as the Director of Global Initiatives and Lindsay Chair of Botany at the California Academy of Sciences.
