Ceramic Mural Grand Opening with artist Chris Longwell

  • 19 Mar 2016
  • 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Tanglewood Nature Center

Our newest art installation reveals life in the pond at all sizes - amoebas to largemouth bass! Created by Chris Longwell, Lecturer of Art and Art History & Director of the George Waters Gallery at Elmira College.

Longwell is a local artist and art educator, who has exhibited his ceramics nationally at venues such as the Society for Contemporary Craft (Pittsburgh, PA). This project combines his love of art, nature and community. Longwell will give a presentation on how the ceramic mural was designed, created, and installed.

This artwork was funded by a 2015 "Artist Crossroads" Grant from the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.
