Film screening: "Jumbo Wild"

  • 09 Apr 2016
  • 7:00 PM
  • Tanglewood Nature Center auditorium
"Jumbo Wild" is an hour-long documentary that plunges viewers into the breath-taking wilderness of the Purcell Mountains in British Columbia. Part of an important wildlife corridor, the Jumbo Valley is one of only two areas in North America where grizzly bears can freely roam between Canada and the U.S. But there's more to Jumbo than just the beautiful glaciers.

For decades, First Nations, conservationists, backcountry skiiers and snowboarders have fought a proposed large-scale ski resort deep in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia. After 24 years of opposition, what more will it take to keep Jumbo wild for good?

Tanglewood will screen the film in our Nature Center. Doors open for seating and concessions at 7:00pm, film begins at 7:15. Brief discussion to follow the film.
