tanglewood nature center and museum

Bernice, the Sulcata tortoise

The Nature Center houses over 43 species of live animals, interactive exhibits, taxidermy mounts of native wildlife, spectacular views and more! If you would like a complete current list of our animals, please click here (.doc). Many of them are animal ambassadors that can visit your school, Scout troop, camp, or community center. Many are available for adult programs and for children's birthdays.

When you come visit, some of our animals can be viewed year-round in their outdoor enclosures -- our Great Horned Owl, Sophie,  our Red-Tailed Hawk, Hank, our Cooper's Hawk, Mini, and our Merlin falcon, Gridley, just to name a few really enjoy being outside even in the winter as long as it's warmer than 20 degrees! Explore our Nature Center and Museum inside and out to spot all of our animals!

Nature Center and Museum hours: OPEN Tuesday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Saturday 10am-4pm. CLOSED Sundays and Mondays. Trails are open dawn-dusk year-round.

Admission to the Nature Center and Museum is FREE to all. Please consider becoming a member of Tanglewood!
