    starts at 2:30pm

How well do you know your tree species? Maybe it's been a while since your last dendrology course, or you may not even know what dendrology is? If you answered I don't know, maybe, or yes to either of the last two questions then you shouldn't miss this nice easy introduction to identifying trees with Alex. He is a graduate of SUNY Enivronmental School of Forestry in Syracuse, and he is very laid back.

    Camp Yucky
    Completed K-5
     Week 3
    July 8-12

Back by very popular demand this week is awesome. Campers will learn how to take water samples and view them under a digital microscope. They will learn to identify microorganisms, create their own “yucky” snack, and compete in a Yucky Olympics. Remember life in the 80’s? When our parents said go outside and play, and we listened? This week is a return to a life that encourages kids to get a little muddy, or get a little dirty, in hopes that it will ignite a spark to further research and explore the natural world. I was told by many parents that this was their kids favorite camp week of the summer last year.

    Play Like a Kid
    Completed K-5
     Week 6
    July 29-August 2

Every summer we try something new, and this is what we came up with this year. Camp Yucky was such a success last summer that we decided to borrow some of the ideas from the Olympic day and turn it into a full week camp. We will be playing classic recess type games like capture the flag, kick the can, red rover, ultimate Frisbee, and more. Kids will learn how to play fair, new games, and new techniques to improve their play. The more they learn and the better they become at the games the more they will want to play them outside. Remember when we played outside at recess? Play like a kid….all week long! Sorry parents, completed K-5th only J
